Ben Freeman co-founded Omnea in London in 2022 and runs it as chief executive. The company sells software that manages how large organizations buy from suppliers: the request from a team, the approvals, the risk and legal checks, onboarding and renewals. Before Omnea, Freeman spent four and a half years at Tessian, the AI email security company, where he joined before its seed round and later moved to New York to build its US business, according to an August 2026 interview with Pulse 2.0.

Growth on the back of AI intake

In September 2025 Omnea raised a $50m (£37.5m) Series B co-led by Insight Partners and Khosla Ventures, with Accel, Point Nine, First Round Capital and Prosus taking part. That took total funding past $75m (£56m). The company said revenue had grown fivefold and headcount had more than tripled in the previous 12 months, and named Spotify, Albertsons, Wise, Adecco and MongoDB among its customers.

The momentum carried into 2026. Omnea ranked first on the Startups 100 index in January, with Monzo also on its customer list, and joined Tech Nation’s Future Fifty cohort of late-stage UK scaleups in March. Pulse 2.0 reported in August that revenue had tripled again over the previous 12 months. The company now has more than 200 staff across London and New York.

The product has moved with the market. Omnea now describes itself as an agentic operating system for procurement: employees can raise a purchase request from Claude, ChatGPT, Slack or Microsoft Teams, and the platform routes it through approvals, supplier records, renewals and third-party risk checks. Freeman’s argument, set out in the Series B announcement, is that supplier data is valuable but stuck “in spreadsheets, inboxes and siloed point solutions”.

Backing staff to leave

In June 2026 Omnea launched a Future Founders Fund with the European angel fund Firedrop. Employees who complete five years at the company can pitch Freeman and Firedrop’s Pietro Invernizzi for $250,000 (£187,000) of seed funding in a single 30-minute meeting, with workspace, operational support and coaching included. “Joining a high-growth startup is often the ideal way to practice building one of your own,” Freeman said. Omnea says 10% of its current staff are former founders, which makes the fund a recruiting argument as much as a benefit.

Why it matters to UK buyers

For UK finance and procurement leaders, supplier management is where software spend, contract risk and third-party security reviews meet. Freeman’s case is that in many large businesses it still runs on email and spreadsheets. Omnea’s customer list, which includes Monzo and Wise, shows UK regulated firms are willing to put that process on a startup’s platform. Its move to AI intake also means purchase requests may increasingly arrive through the assistants staff already use, which matters to any IT team deciding where those tools connect.

Freeman has taken Omnea from launch to more than 200 staff in about four years, with revenue compounding each year. A Future Fifty place and a growing New York office point to the next stage, international scale, and on the evidence so far the business is growing into it.
