Brabners is an independent full-service law firm that acts for commercial businesses, charities and social enterprises, and private individuals. It describes itself as anchored in the North since 1815 and works from five offices: Liverpool, where its registered office is at Horton House on Exchange Flags, Manchester, Leeds, Lancashire and, since 2026, the City of London.
The firm is led by Robert White, CEO, and Nik White, managing partner. The firm’s website says the two set its strategic direction together and led the development of its purpose, which its accounts quote as “to bring about positive and lasting change for its clients, its people and the communities it serves”.
Turnover up 12% to £60.2m
Turnover rose by £6.3m to £60.2m in the year to 30 April 2025, from £53.9m, according to the accounts Brabners LLP filed at Companies House in February 2026. Profit before members’ remuneration and profit shares rose from £18.1m to £20.3m. The members’ report describes the year as the first of a three-year strategic plan built around “client-centred, scalable growth”.
The average number of employees, excluding members, rose from 406 to 444 over the year: 255 legal advisers and 189 administration and support staff. In a January 2026 results announcement, the firm said it was approaching 600 colleagues in total.
A fifth office in London
Brabners opened a permanent office at 4 Coleman Street in 2026. The January announcement named corporate partner Stuart Hatcher and litigation partner Russell Strong among those leading the London practice, alongside partners Ross Shine and Euri Yoon. The firm said its corporate team advised on transactions worth more than £500m in the first half of 2025, double the figure for the same period a year earlier. The Leeds office opened in 2022.
Recognition for the firm and its teams
The 2025 accounts record the firm being named Best Law Firm to work for by Best Companies for a second consecutive year, and sixth in the Best Large Companies category. Its website lists Regional Law Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2025 and ESG Firm of the Year at the Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards 2026.
Brabners became a certified B Corp in 2022. Its charitable arm, the Brabners Foundation, has made 86 grants totaling more than £210,000 since 2019, according to the firm.
