Built by acquisition

Qamer Ghafoor is chief executive and, according to the Companies House register, the person with significant control of Flint Bishop Limited, which took over the trade and assets of Flint Bishop LLP on 1 August 2024. In its first nine months, to 30 April 2025, the company recorded turnover of £26.1m and profit before tax of £8.2m, and employed an average of 304 people including directors, according to its accounts. During that period it bought the banking recoveries department of Walker Morris.

On 29 September 2025 Flint Bishop acquired the business and assets of Lupton Fawcett, bringing 83 staff and offices in Leeds, Sheffield and York. “This acquisition represents a major step forward in our expansion across the north of England,” Ghafoor said at the time. The firm then had more than 420 professionals.

Revenue past £43m

The firm says revenue passed £43m in the year to 30 April 2026, that it has roughly doubled in size over two years and that the first quarter of 2026–27 was a record, with growth of 31% on the same quarter a year earlier. It now employs more than 460 people. On 10 August 2026 it opened a Sheffield office at 1 Holly Street, with more than 70 workstations and training and event space. Recent hires include a corporate finance partner and a property litigation partner in Sheffield, and a chief financial officer.

Chambers UK 2026 ranks 11 Flint Bishop departments, including corporate and M&A for owner-managed businesses and family law in the East Midlands, crime in the North East and Yorkshire, and licensing nationally.
