Right · 100%IT spending set to reach $4.25 trillion this year.
What happened. This December 2025 release is the first IDC full-year 2025 figure found: 14% growth to $4.25tn. No later IDC restatement was found. Made in the last month of the year it forecasts, so the outcome was close to certain; it matches IDC's first published full-year figure. Baseline implied by the stated 14% growth. Sources: idc.com.

Wrong · 0%we are expecting about 20% revenue growth in server and storage spending this year, on the heels of the 50+% growth that we saw last year.
What happened. IDC's server tracker put 2025 server revenue at a record $444.1bn, up 80.4% on 2024, and IDC's December 2025 IT spending release said service-provider datacenter infrastructure spending (server/storage and network) would rise 86% in 2025. No published IDC server-plus-storage total was found, but servers alone grew about four times the forecast rate. Forecast about 20% growth vs roughly 80% for servers (the bulk of server/storage spending): missed by far more than 10 points. Scope is not exactly like for like (servers only), but no plausible storage figure closes the gap. Sources: idc.com, idc.com.

Mostly right · 75%Worldwide Total ICT Spending is expected to grow +7.8%, reaching $6.57 trillion in 2025.
What happened. IDC's December 2025 release (the first full-year 2025 figure found) said total ICT spending, including telecom and business services, "will reach almost $7 trillion this year". Level held as stated: $6.57tn vs "almost $7tn", about 6% short, inside the 10% band. If "almost" means about $6.9tn the gap is under 5% and it would be Right. Baseline is implied by the stated 7.8% growth. Sources: idc.com.
