Right · 100%We predict the same number of openings in 2025
What happened. Cybersecurity Ventures' Dec 2025 almanac says unfilled jobs remain at 3.5 million (or less) in 2025. ISC2, using a different method, put the global workforce gap at 4.8 million in 2024 and stopped publishing a gap figure in 2025. The firm's own 2025 figure matches the forecast; ISC2's gap measure is not like for like, so the score rests on Cybersecurity Ventures' figures. Sources: cybersecurityventures.com, isc2.org.

Caveat. No independent evidence available. Scored on Cybersecurity Ventures’s own figures.
Mostly wrong · 25%We expect brisk hiring in the cybersecurity space for the rest of this year, and through 2025.
What happened. Hiring held up in 2023, then stalled. ISC2 found the global security workforce grew just 0.1% in 2024, with 38% of respondents reporting hiring freezes and 25% layoffs. Its 2025 study found hiring freezes steady and layoffs at 24%. Right for 2023, but 2024 and 2025 brought flat headcount, hiring freezes and layoffs rather than brisk hiring. Wrong · 0%We predict that women will represent 30 percent of the global cybersecurity workforce by 2025
What happened. ISC2's 2024 Cybersecurity Workforce Study found women make up 22% of security teams on average, and ISC2 cites a Global Cybersecurity Forum report putting women at 24% of the workforce. No measure found shows women near 30%. Independent measures put women at 22-24% of the workforce, well short of 30% and below the 25% Morgan said they already held in 2022. Sources: isc2.org.
