Nutanix buys Ryax to add GPU scheduling to its AI platform

The French company’s orchestration software will go into Nutanix’s Kubernetes and enterprise AI products, but Nutanix has given no price and no release dates

The facts
  • Ryax’s chief executive is Andry Razafinjatovo.
  • Nutanix calls the two capabilities it is buying intelligent resource optimization and AI-aware smart scheduling.
  • Nutanix says Ryax also helps move AI projects from experiment to production by automating infrastructure, data, hardware and code.
  • Nutanix says more than 50% of the Global 2000 use its platform.
Why it matters

For organizations already splitting AI between their own data centers and rented GPU capacity, this is a reason to keep Nutanix on the shortlist, not a reason to buy now. Buyers evaluating NKP or NAI should ask for a dated roadmap in writing and should not count on the scheduling features in a business case until they ship. When they do, test them against real workloads before accepting any claim of savings.

“Agentic AI requires a flexible architecture, simple operations and the ability to use infrastructure far more efficiently”Rajiv Ramaswami, chief executive, Nutanix

Nutanix said on 22 September 2026 that it has acquired Ryax Technologies, a French company that makes AI compute orchestration and management software. It plans to build Ryax’s graphics processing unit (GPU) utilization and scheduling features into Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI).

Nutanix aims the deal at a specific problem. It says GPU shortages have pushed enterprises to spread AI workloads across their own data centers, the hyperscalers and neoclouds to find capacity, which makes those deployments hard to run economically. Ryax’s software is meant to get more out of available GPUs and CPUs and to place AI workloads automatically on cheaper hardware.

Nutanix did not disclose the price. It says the financial impact is not material and that the Ryax team will join it in France. The integration is due in future NKP and NAI releases, but the press release says it remains under development and will be offered “if at all, on a when-and-if-available basis”.
