Angus Shaw is managing director of Elovade UK&I, the cybersecurity distributor that traded as Brigantia until 23 September 2026. He led Brigantia, based in Thirsk, Yorkshire, before its sale in April 2025 to the Elovade Group, a Wetzlar-based value-added distributor formerly known as EBERTLANG, and kept the managing director’s job for the UK and Ireland afterwards. It was Elovade’s eighth acquisition, its largest and its first in the UK, and brought more than 50 staff into the group. Brigantia’s founder, Iain Shaw, and its chairman, Martin Wright, left at the sale.

Brigantia was founded in 1996 and moved exclusively into cybersecurity distribution in 2016. Under Angus Shaw it built a reputation with managed service providers in particular, carrying vendors such as Heimdal, Hornetsecurity, Keeper Security and KnowBe4.

Buying while integrating

Shaw did not wait for the integration to finish before expanding. In March 2026 Brigantia bought Zen Software, a Rochdale software distributor that says it has served more than 2,000 IT resellers and MSPs over 30 years. The deal brought vendors such as MDaemon and MailStore, which Elovade already sells elsewhere in Europe. “This acquisition is a strategic step,” Shaw said. The vendor list also widened beyond security. Doc2, SuperOps and HighGround joined in February 2026, and Wasabi’s cloud storage, sold under Elovade’s EL Storage brand, followed in April.

A new name and a group seat

On 23 September 2026 Brigantia relaunched as Elovade UK&I, ending 17 months of trading as “Brigantia by Elovade”. Shaw remains in charge and has joined Elovade’s group board with responsibility for the wider group portfolio. Elovade says it serves more than 25,000 system integrators, MSPs and channel partners across Europe, and it has promised UK partners the same team, vendors and day-to-day support.

Why it matters to the channel

For UK MSPs, a distributor they chose for its focus now sits inside a larger group with a longer vendor list and, potentially, its own cloud platform. At the time of the sale Shaw called the possible UK launch of Elovade Cloud Services “a particularly exciting opportunity” for partners.

Shaw has done the hard part of a sale – keeping the team and the vendors – and added an acquisition on top. His seat on the group board suggests Elovade sees the UK as a platform rather than an outpost.
