Dan Scott

Dan Scott is senior director of the IT Nation community at ConnectWise, the US company that sells professional services automation and remote monitoring and management (RMM) software to MSPs. He leads the IT Nation Evolve peer groups and the IT Nation Connect conferences in Europe, and has more than 20 years’ experience in MSP technical, project management, operations and business transformation roles. He also chairs the UK and Ireland executive council of the Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA), the member body that grew out of CompTIA’s channel community.

A sold-out London conference

Scott co-led IT Nation Connect Europe in London on 9–11 March 2026, opening it with Peter Kujawa, general manager of IT Nation and Service Leadership, on trends drawn from Service Leadership’s benchmarking data on MSP performance. ConnectWise says the event sold out for the second year running, drew more than 600 attendees, 28% of them first-timers, and ran more than 40 breakout sessions. Previewing it in February, Scott said: “At its core, IT Nation is about turning community into progress.”

Peer groups are the product

The core of IT Nation is Evolve, in which MSP owners meet every quarter in small groups and hold each other to account on their numbers. In March 2025 Scott told IT Europa that the program had about 650 member companies worldwide and nearly 60 in its European chapter. IT Europa reported that members had achieved compound annual growth of 9.6% in revenue and 28% in profitability. Scott’s stated aim was to double the European membership: “I would love to double our member base in Europe,” he said.

Why it matters to the channel

Peer groups are where many UK MSP owners test their margins, pricing and staffing against people who will tell them the truth. Scott sits in two of them: a vendor-run community and GTIA’s vendor-neutral council, where Purple Frog’s Hollie Whittles is vice chair. He won CompTIA’s UK and Ireland Community Leadership award in 2024 and in August 2026 represented the UK and Ireland at GTIA’s ChannelCon in San Diego. That gives smaller MSPs a well-connected voice in both rooms.

Scott has made ConnectWise’s London conference a sold-out fixture and leads the peer groups where UK MSP owners compare their numbers, while chairing the vendor-neutral council that represents them at GTIA.
