Where technology leaders come to think out loud

BCN moves its Microsoft business to Arrow as an indirect reseller

BCN is giving up a direct Microsoft relationship for distribution through Arrow, and wants to be a supplier to other partners as well as a reseller

The facts
  • BCN says it supports more than 1,600 customers.
  • It employs more than 400 people across UK offices, including more than 250 support staff and engineers.
  • BCN says it is one of 30 partners worldwide to hold Microsoft’s Support Services Partner designation.
  • BCN had not announced an acquisition since January 2024, according to IT Channel Oxygen.
What it means for partners

When an MSP of BCN’s size judges that a distributor gets it closer to Microsoft than a direct relationship does, it suggests the economics of going direct are shifting. Smaller MSPs without data and AI skills gain a ready-made source of services to resell, while BCN’s rivals in Microsoft data and AI gain a competitor inside Arrow’s catalog.

“This decision is a carefully considered step to reinforce our position as a leading Microsoft Partner.”Rob Davies, chief executive, BCN

BCN, a UK managed service provider, has become an indirect reseller of Microsoft cloud services through Arrow Electronics, it announced on 13 January 2026.

The switch was first reported by IT Channel Oxygen, which put BCN’s revenue at £70m. Chief executive Rob Davies told the title that BCN had decided to go from a direct Microsoft partner to an indirect one through Arrow and that the move gives BCN “much easier access into Microsoft”. He said BCN planned to sell its agentic AI services to the wider channel through Arrow ECS, that traditional MSP work in IT support, Azure and modern workplace was commoditizing and that an acquisition late in 2026 was quite likely.

In its own announcement, BCN said it would draw on Arrow’s partner-to-partner network and vendor relationships, while Arrow’s partners could tap BCN’s AI capabilities. BCN said its clients would get wider technical support, upskilling and advice on data and AI investments as a result.
