Brigantia retires its name to trade as Elovade UK and Ireland

The Thirsk-based cybersecurity distributor completes its move into the pan-European Elovade Group. Elovade promises partners the same team and vendors, but says little about what is new

The facts
  • Elovade says its group serves more than 25,000 system integrators, MSPs and channel partners across Europe.
  • Elovade UK and Ireland is a trading name of Brigantia Partners Limited, according to its website.
  • Brigantia was founded in 1996 by Iain Shaw and has focused on cybersecurity distribution since 2016.
  • Elovade's chief executive is Philip Weber.
What it means for partners

For MSPs buying through Brigantia, the contracting company looks unchanged, so the rebrand alone is unlikely to change accounts, pricing or support routes. The real test is whether group scale turns into things a UK partner can use, such as vendors Brigantia couldn't sign alone, better buying terms or the cloud platform Elovade has run in Europe.

The rebrand also makes plain what the 2025 sale began: one fewer independently owned specialist distributor in the UK. Vendors and MSPs that valued Brigantia as a local, independent business may want to ask where UK decisions are now made.

“Bringing the UK and Ireland business fully under the Elovade name is an important milestone in our pan-European growth.”Philip Weber, CEO, Elovade

Cybersecurity distributor Brigantia began trading as Elovade UK and Ireland on 23 September, 17 months after the Elovade Group bought it. Managing director Angus Shaw stays in charge and has also joined the group board, with responsibility for the wider group portfolio.

Elovade, formerly known as EBERTLANG, bought Brigantia in April 2025. The deal was its eighth acquisition, its largest and its first in the UK, adding to operations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Nordics and Italy. Since then the Thirsk business has traded as ‘Brigantia by Elovade’. In March 2026 it bought Zen Software, a Rochdale distributor that says it has served more than 2,000 UK resellers and MSPs over 30 years, bringing email vendors MDaemon and MailStore into the portfolio.

Elovade says partners keep the same team, vendor portfolio and day-to-day support, now backed by group-wide vendor relationships. The announcement names no new vendors, services or terms. When the acquisition was announced in 2025, Shaw pointed to the potential arrival of Elovade's own cloud services platform in the UK. The rebrand announcement doesn't say whether that has happened.
