Flotek buys Fife network specialist Comvista Networks in its 17th deal
The MSP has bought the Glenrothes cabling and connectivity firm it already used as a contractor in Scotland. It takes Flotek down to the physical network beneath its managed services
- Comvista Networks Limited employed an average of five people in the year to 30 November 2025, according to its accounts at Companies House
- It reported net assets of £319,030 at that date
- Flotek dates the business to 2008; the current company was incorporated in November 2014
- Flotek describes itself as having a team of 141 people
Buying a trusted subcontractor is a lower-risk way to add a capability: the quality is already proven on live jobs, and cabling margin that used to go to an outside firm can now stay inside the group. For small cabling and connectivity firms that do installation work for MSPs, the likeliest buyer may already be one of their customers. For MSPs competing with Flotek in Scotland, it now owns an installation team there, which makes a bid covering everything from the cable to cybersecurity more credible north of the border.
“A technology solution can only perform as well as the network it runs on.”Jay Ball, chief executive, Flotek Group
Flotek Group, the managed IT and communications provider based in Bridgend, said on 1 October that it has acquired Comvista Networks, a network infrastructure specialist in Glenrothes, Fife. It is Flotek's 17th acquisition since it was founded in 2022 and its third this year. The terms were not disclosed.
Comvista designs, installs, tests and commissions internal and external network infrastructure, including structured cabling and optical fiber, and also sells connectivity and communications services to small businesses. Flotek says Comvista has worked for commercial firms and public bodies, including on projects supporting Fife Council, on sites ranging from offshore installations to care settings. The two firms already knew each other well: Comvista has worked as a contractor on Flotek's cabling and infrastructure projects in Scotland and the north of the UK for several years.
Comvista's director, Neill Ferguson, started as a BT engineer and has more than 40 years in telecoms. He said the two firms take the same hands-on attitude to customer care and to finishing jobs well.
The deal follows Flotek's purchases of FlexiNet, a Hampshire telecoms provider, in February and Clear Telecom, which operates from Essex and serves London, in July. IT Channel Oxygen, whose 2026 Fast-Growth 50 ranked Flotek the UK's fastest-growing MSP, reports that the group is aiming for a revenue run rate of £23m this year and is chasing £100m under a ten-year growth plan, with about 60% of its business in IT and 40% in communications. Flotek presents the deal as part of a plan to sell managed IT, cybersecurity, communications and the infrastructure beneath them as a single managed service.
