PXC brings CityFibre’s Ethernet Flex to its SMB connectivity partners

The wholesaler has also opened CityFibre’s business full fiber product across the network’s whole footprint, giving the resellers it supplies more to quote to small firms

The facts
  • CityFibre Business FTTP footprint now open to PXC partners: more than 4.7 million premises
  • CityFibre’s 10-gigabit-capable passive optical network (XGS-PON) is set to reach more than eight million premises
  • PXC first launched CityFibre Business FTTP in December 2025, at symmetrical speeds of up to 1Gbps
  • Business FTTP options: managed Layer 3 or wholesale Layer 2
What changes for customers

Small firms in CityFibre areas gain another way to buy a guaranteed minimum speed over full fiber, through the resellers PXC supplies. Before signing, buyers should check how repair times and service guarantees compare with a leased line, not only the headline speed. Where more than one network reaches a site, a second network to quote on strengthens the buyer’s hand at renewal. Firms with several sites should confirm which of them the network reaches before planning around it.

“PXC is bringing our Ethernet Flex product to even more small and medium-sized businesses, enabling access to a guaranteed, high-quality connection whenever they need it, at a price with an eye on a bottom line.”George Wareing, chief commercial officer, CityFibre

PXC, the wholesale connectivity provider, launched CityFibre Ethernet Flex for its partners on 26 March, offering symmetrical speeds with a guaranteed minimum throughput of 200Mbps and the ability to burst to 1Gbps.

Ethernet Flex runs Ethernet over CityFibre’s full fiber to the premises (FTTP) network. PXC pitches it at SMBs that want gigabit-capable connectivity at a lower price, and adds it to its existing range of Ethernet over FTTP products.

Partners can check availability in real time and order and manage both products through a single integration, contract and service level agreement (SLA), according to PXC. Jenny Harrison, PXC’s chief commercial officer, said the additions build on a long-standing relationship with CityFibre and give partners more choice in serving businesses of all sizes.
