Westcoast Cloud adds Gamma's Teams calling to its marketplace

Microsoft partners buying through Westcoast Cloud can now add Teams calling as a single bundled product. Neither company has said what it costs or what partners earn

The facts
  • Voice by Gamma uses Microsoft Operator Connect, Microsoft's certified route for linking Teams to the public phone network.
  • Gamma says it has more than 2,200 employees, with the UK and Germany as its core markets.
  • From April 2027, Openreach expects to begin moving remaining eligible copper lines to its Emergency Voice Access service, according to Gamma.
What it means for partners

For Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners without a voice practice, this is a low-effort way to add a recurring line to each Teams customer before the copper deadline. Without a published margin, it is hard to judge whether it beats reselling Teams Phone with another carrier's calling plan.

The bigger shift may be for Gamma's traditional voice resellers, who now face Microsoft-first partners selling a Gamma voice service through a cloud marketplace. Gamma's own channel is likely to ask how the pricing compares.

“For many partners, the next growth opportunity isn’t about finding an entirely new customer.”Chris Wade, chief marketing and product officer, Gamma

Westcoast Cloud has added Voice by Gamma to its marketplace, according to a release from the two companies published on 22 September, so its partners can provision and sell Microsoft Teams calling to their existing Microsoft customers. The service is sold as a single stock-keeping unit (SKU) that bundles Teams calling with unlimited UK and international minutes.

Westcoast Cloud is a Reading-based distributor, part of the ALSO group, and was set up in 2015. Gamma is listed on the London Stock Exchange's main market and says it serves small and medium-sized businesses through more than 1,500 UK channel partners. The two companies pitch the flat bundle as simpler than per-minute billing. The release gives no price and no partner margin.

The companies tie the launch to the switch-off of the public switched telephone network (PSTN), the UK's copper phone network. In a statement on 25 September, Gamma set out Openreach's latest timetable: orders to move PSTN lines to all-IP services must be placed by 31 January 2027 and completed by 31 March 2027.

As of 26 September, the release did not appear on Westcoast Cloud's or Gamma's own news pages. This brief relies on the release as reprinted by Technology Reseller, and Westcoast Cloud's Gamma vendor page confirms that Voice by Gamma is available through the distributor.
