Westcoast hands leadership to four executives as Madhani steps down

Sunil Madhani hands over at the end of 2026 after more than two decades at the distributor, as Swiss group ALSO draws the business further into its operations

The facts
  • Westcoast was established in 1983 and employs more than 1,000 people across the UK, Ireland and Europe, according to its LinkedIn company page
  • Westcoast lists HP, HPE, Dell, Microsoft, Lenovo and Apple among the brands it distributes
  • ALSO expected to finish merging the two groups’ French operations and UK cloud businesses by 1 July 2026
What it means for partners

A change at the top of a distributor rarely moves partner margin overnight, but it can reset who signs off rebates, credit lines and vendor program commitments. Resellers and MSPs with sizeable Westcoast accounts should ask their account managers whether credit terms, back-end incentives and named contacts carry over, and who now owns escalations between the commercial and solutions leads. If pricing and program decisions drift toward group level, partners that rely on Westcoast’s local flexibility may feel it first, while those already buying across ALSO’s European footprint could gain.

“Our teams have aligned quickly with ALSO’s structures and processes, while preserving the agility that defines our business.”Sunil Madhani, chief executive, Westcoast, in ALSO’s April 2026 update

Westcoast has named four executives to succeed managing director Sunil Madhani, who hands over his responsibilities on 31 December 2026, as first reported by IT Channel Oxygen on 1 October. Martha Perez becomes co-regional managing director, with Phil Bell as chief commercial officer UK and Ireland, Stane Brlecic as solutions director and George Wooley as finance director, according to the outlet.

Madhani took the top job at the start of 2025 after more than 20 years as Westcoast’s chief financial officer, the outlet reported. He will run the business until the year end, and IT Channel Oxygen said it understands he will then leave. In a press statement, Westcoast tied the changes to its continuing transformation and closer integration with ALSO, according to the outlet.

ALSO, based in Emmen, Switzerland, said in February 2025 that it had cleared all regulatory approvals for its combination with Westcoast, including European Commission merger clearance without restrictions. Westcoast generated about €4.2bn (£3.6bn) of revenue in 2024, according to ALSO’s clearance announcement, which also said Westcoast’s management would stay in place to ensure continuity.

Integration has already reshaped Westcoast’s senior ranks. In an April 2026 update, ALSO said Westcoast’s first quarter had run ahead of the same period in 2025, and that senior Westcoast executives had moved into central group roles in legal, marketing, finance and vendor management.
