Mostly right · 75%M&A activity will grow this year in both the channel and vendor spaces. The Channel · made Jan 2025 · due Dec 2025

What happened. M&A Signal's MSP report counts 466 MSP deals closed in 2025, up 20% on 2024. The vendor side is less clear: the predicted RMM/PSA vendor deals did not happen. Channel (MSP) M&A did grow in 2025; the vendor half is unproven and the headline vendor deals he expected (RO-14) did not occur. Sources: masignal.com.

Wrong · 0%Canalys predicts three of the top five vendors in the RMM and PSA spaces will either file for an IPO or be acquired by private equity by the end of 2025.The Channel · made Jan 2025 · due Dec 2025

What happened. No IPO filing or private-equity buyout of a top-five RMM/PSA vendor (ConnectWise, Kaseya, N-able, NinjaOne, HaloPSA) was found in 2025. N-able's 2024 sale process did not produce a deal, and June 2025 coverage of the PSA/RMM market lists these vendors with no such transactions. A specific, dated call of three of five vendors changing hands or listing; none were found to have done so. Sources: channele2e.com, dutchitchannel.nl.

Right · 100%By the end of the year, there will be around 341,000 partners delivering these managed services. The Channel · made Jan 2025 · due Dec 2025

What happened. Omdia/McBain later cited 'more than 335,000' companies with at least one managed services contract (Channel Dive, Dec 2025). Omdia-attributed LinkedIn posts cite over 338,000 partners offering managed services. No independent count found. 338,000 vs 341,000 forecast is within 1%, so inside the 10% band. Only the firm's own figures exist. Sources: channeldive.com.

Mostly right · 75%M&A activity in the MSP channel will grow 50% in 2024, returning to 60% of 2021 levels. The Channel · made Feb 2024 · due Dec 2024

What happened. Drake Star counted 235 US/European MSP deals in H1 2024, about four times the H2 2023 pace, and 77 in Q3 2024, more than double Q3 2023. MSP M&A rebounded strongly in 2024, at or above the +50% called; no clean 2021 baseline was found to test the '60% of 2021' part. Direction and scale of the 2024 rebound were right, possibly understated; the 2021 comparison can't be verified, and Ody's own Jan 2025 summary described 2024 as a slower M&A year, so counts depend on the data source. Mostly wrong · 25%At least three vendors in the RMM and PSA space will be acquired by 2025.The Channel · made Feb 2024 · due Dec 2025

What happened. N-able ran a sale process in 2024 (Barracuda named as a suitor) but stayed independent and listed. No acquisition of ConnectWise, Kaseya, NinjaOne, N-able, HaloPSA or other leading RMM/PSA vendors was found through 2025; June 2025 coverage of the PSA/RMM 'platform wars' names no such deals. The expected wave of RMM/PSA takeovers did not arrive; the closest event (N-able's sale process) did not close. Not marked Wrong because smaller RMM/PSA tuck-ins may have occurred that this search did not capture. Sources: channele2e.com, dutchitchannel.nl.

Mostly right · 75%At least 33% of MSPs will be using generative AI to build their own tools and automation processes by 2025.Artificial Intelligence · made Feb 2024 · due Dec 2025

What happened. No survey isolates generative AI used to build in-house tools, but 2025 surveys show internal AI use near-universal: one 2025 MSP survey found only 4% of MSPs not using AI internally (down from 17% in 2024), and Kaseya's 2025 benchmark found about 30% using AI to take over tedious tasks. Broad internal AI adoption clearly cleared a one-third bar by 2025, but the evidence measures AI use in general rather than MSPs building their own GenAI tools, so the exact threshold can't be confirmed. Right · 100%Total managed services revenue in the channel will grow 12% in 2024.The Channel · made Feb 2024 · due Dec 2024

What happened. Canalys's late-2024 MSP landscape round-up put 2024 managed services growth at just under 11%; Ody's January 2025 podcast also cited 11% for 2024. Growth was still double-digit but about a point below the call. Called double-digit growth correctly in a tough market and landed within roughly a point (12% forecast vs about 11% actual), though the 'at least 12%' version was missed.
